Content policy
This content policy explains how we approach material on Fictionite and related services (the “Service”). It works alongside our Terms of service. If anything here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms prevail.
1. Freedom of expression
We generally err on the side of freedom of speech for lawful fiction and discussion. We are not looking to police taste or artistic choices beyond what the law requires, what keeps the Service safe, and the rules on this page. That does not mean everything is allowed: some material is prohibited outright, and some may be restricted from monetisation or must be clearly labelled so readers can choose what they see.
2. Child sexual abuse material
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is never allowed on the Service—whether photographic, illustrated, described in text, or otherwise. We report to authorities and cooperate with law enforcement where required. Accounts used to upload or solicit such material may be terminated and preserved for investigation.
This section is about CSAM only. It does not mean fiction cannot depict minors in danger, distress, violence, or other serious harm where the work is not sexual abuse material and is otherwise lawful. Such themes may still require clear labelling; see “Labelling and flags” below.
3. Monetisation
Not every work that may appear on the Service is eligible for monetisation features (such as subscriptions, tips, or paid chapters). In particular, work that is pornographic—sexually explicit material whose primary purpose is sexual arousal rather than narrative, character, or literary aims—is not eligible for those programmes. That is in part because our payment providers restrict certain categories of content and may block, hold, or reverse payments if we route money to material they do not allow—so we keep paid features within what those providers accept. We may decline, revoke, or withhold monetisation for specific works or accounts when they fall outside eligibility rules we publish from time to time.
Other lawful work may still be published and read on the Service subject to this policy and the Terms, even when it is not eligible for monetisation.
4. Labelling and flags
You must apply content labels, maturity ratings, warnings, or flags that the Service provides so that your work is appropriately flagged for readers. That includes marking mature themes (such as graphic violence, strong sexual content, or other material readers may wish to avoid) honestly and keeping descriptions and metadata accurate. Misleading labels or deliberate omission of required flags may result in moderation action, including removal of monetisation or visibility limits.
5. Enforcement
We may remove content, limit distribution, suspend monetisation, or terminate accounts when this policy or the Terms are violated, when we are required to act by law, or when necessary to protect users and the Service. You can report concerns via our Contact page.
